Monday 9-27-10, Itching to get out of Auckland!

Paul called Atish to see if our van would be ready on Monday…looks like tuesday is the day.  We decided to spend the day gathering our last minute supplies so all we have to do on Tuesday is hit the open road.  Once again we were reminded of how hilly Auckland is! We also found out how strong Paul is, carrying a lot of stuff up hill for great distances, what a great husband!  We also decided to be charitable and support the local economy by spending our money at the Wearhouse (similar to a Target, but defiantly not as nice.) At the Wearhouse we bought a chilly bin (a small cooler), some awesome blue camo curtain's for our van, soap, cutting board, and a few misc things that we probably did not need.  We also found an Australian owned Italian restaurant called La Porchetta.  It was one of our cheaper meals since arriving in Auckland. The pizza was actually really good so it was a good thing we ordered two larges (they are much smaller than american large pizza's, they are like Tortino's party pizza size). It was funny the restaurant had french fries (chips) as an appetizer, and most every table had chips with their pizza.  On a side note at the restaurant while eating we are sure we saw a kid (1.5yr) with the largest head ever! Pretty sure it would be guineas world record, we gave the parents the curtsy smile that their kid was cute and not frightening like he actually was!  After a great meal, and leftover's in hand we went back to pack our bags and pray our van would be ready.
